50th Anniversary Celebration

We look forward to welcoming alumni, faculty, and current students to Charlottesville this October to celebrate fifty years of the Political and Social Thought Program at UVA! The basic details are as follows:

When: Friday, October 17th, 2025

Where: University of Virginia Grounds

What: An afternoon of stimulating conversations, speakers, followed by a reception and dinner in the Rotunda


Speakers will include:

Jamelle Bouie, PST '09
New York Times opinion columnist, CBS News political analyst, and co-host of the Unclear and Present Danger podcast.

Amy Argetsinger, PST '90
Washington Post editor and author of There She Was: The Secret History of Miss America.

Zaakir Tameez, PST '19
Fulbright Scholar, Yale Law graduate, and author of Charles Sumner: Conscience of a Nation.
